Over the summer break Highlands College will be migrating all staff and current students accounts across to Office 365 for the start of the new 2017 / 2018 academic year. This will be a phased approach that will first see the movement of your home drive documents across to your new Onedrive and then a transfer of your email service to a new cloud based facility.
Please check regularly to see if your documents have been moved
What is Office 365?
Office 365 is a cloud based service that is hosted by Microsoft and provided by the college as part of their academic licensing. It allows each registered user to store data and make use of its online applications wherever they are providing they have access to the internet.
As a member of the college you are also eligible to install the software on up to 5 devices and continue to use it as long as you have a valid college email address.
Why are we doing this?
The College has invested significantly in its infrastructure and wifi services over the past two years to allow clients to bring in their own devices and therefore get a better teaching and learning experience.
To provide students with the same software and storage solutions whether they are at home or on campus. Allow for more collaboration between students and staff by making use of the various applications on offer
How do I access it?
On the main page of the college website is a link to Office 365 or you can access it from here Office365
You will need to enter you college email address as well as your college password. Only currently enrolled students will have access to this service.
