Highlands College, Open Evening 2017, In partnership with SandpiperCI

Highlands College, in partnership with SandpiperCI, will be showcasing all College departments in an exciting open evening which will give the general public a chance to view the campus and meet students and staff. A first of its kind, Highlands invites students of the future, their families and friends, alumni and the local business community to see what’s new at Highlands College.
The event will feature live demonstrations, showing visitors the outstanding standard of practical learning which takes place at the College. Whether you are of GCSE/Sixth Form age and leaving school; wanting to upskill; learn something new or enhance your career; Highlands College has something for everyone. Our departments include:
6th Form College Jersey:
Students from all Jersey secondary schools are invited to find out how they can pursue outstanding vocational qualifications, specialist routes to Higher Education and apprenticeships. 6th Form College Jersey is the leading provider of Further Education in Jersey for 16 to 18-year-olds. They invite students to apply for September 2018.
University College Jersey:
Visitors will have the opportunity to visit UCJ and speak with staff about how our students benefit from small class sizes, inspiring teachers, work-based learning and outstanding standards of pastoral care. UCJ offers a host of graduate and post-graduate courses and welcomes anyone over the age of 18 to apply for September 2018.
Highlands Professional:
The Open Evening will mark the launch of our Professional Studies Centre. An opportunity to learn about forthcoming CPD sessions and our CMI Chartered Manager Programme and discuss training priorities for 2018. Highlands Professional is an accredited centre for highly respected qualifications including IAB Bookkeeping levels 1-3, CMI levels 2-7 and PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner.
Adult and Community Education:
A chance to meet the team, speak with tutors and discuss our new courses starting January 2018. ACE is the leading provider of leisure learning in Jersey and offers daytime and evening courses in cookery, pottery, arts and crafts, wellbeing, sport and fitness and languages – with a dedicated department which offers courses for speakers of other languages.
Part-time Vocational courses:
Learn about how our part-time courses offer anyone the opportunity to gain introductory qualifications in a new subject, with flexible options to learn whilst you work. Courses include: beauty therapy, culinary arts, motor vehicle, welding and fabrication, plumbing and electrical.

Parking is available on the college field upon entry from St Saviour’s Hill in addition to Hautlieu School car park upon entry from Bon Air Lane. On arrival all visitors are encouraged to arrive at the Highlands College Reception. Guided tours available.
