HIGHLANDS COLLEGE APPOINTS NEW VICE PRINCIPAL FOR CURRICULUM
Highlands College and University College Jersey is pleased to announce the appointment of Kate Hobbs as the Vice-Principal for Curriculum. With a proven track record of outstanding educational leadership in Further Education, Kate brings a dynamic and innovative approach to the college, as we look to the next stages in our development in meeting the needs of islanders and businesses.
Kate Hobbs is an accomplished educator with many years of experience in leadership and management.
Kate complements the collaborative and inclusive leadership style at Highlands College, emphasising the importance of partnership working and continuous professional development for all.
In her previous role as Deputy Principal, Kate Hobbs spearheaded several strategic initiatives including development of all curriculum and quality assurance around teaching, learning and assessment; education and training of all staff and students and project management of both capital and revenue streams whilst also being the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
As the new Vice-Principal for Curriculum at Highlands College, Kate Hobbs will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the technical and vocational programmes offered. She will work collaboratively with the existing leadership team, department heads and other stakeholders to ensure that the curriculum remains current, engaging, and aligned with best educational practices and industry needs.
On her appointment, Kate said, “I am excited to be joining a dynamic and committed senior team at Highlands College and will use my experience of quality and curriculum and love for people and further education to deliver teaching, learning and assessment opportunities which meet the needs of the island community and Government of Jersey Skills Strategy.”
