A cut above the rest: Jersey’s stylists come together for exciting new venture!
Hairdressers, make-up artists, stylists and photographers came together at Highlands College to learn more about an exciting new venture.
The brand new Jersey Hairdressing Awards is set to launch in autumn 2025 – and to begin building momentum, industry creatives were treated to a ‘how-to create your own collection’ live seminar.
The evening was designed to invigorate and inspire artists with fresh ideas to spark their own journey towards creating a professional collection.
Allan Henry ESQ, the event’s Creative Director, shared his vision for the Jersey Hairdressing Awards as his creativity and leadership have been instrumental in bringing the vision to life thus far.
Photographer, Oliver Doran, led an unforgettable live photo-shoot scenario of a model, skilfully demonstrating photography focused on hair. He shared his tips and tricks with the audience about how to get the most out of a shoot, including getting the best lighting, framing and building rapport with the model.

Guest speaker, Joan Scott, CEO Habia UK shared the work of the Standard Setting Organisation, plus enriched discussions with invaluable insights drawn from her extensive experience and qualifications in the industry. Joan added depth and a national context to the event.
The evening would not have been possible without the talented work of so many volunteers, including Yasmyn Bisson (hairstylist), Skye Channing (makeup artist), Eleyshir James (stylist), and all the dedicated models. Their artistry and passion truly brought the event to life, especially during the extraordinary catwalk segment that showcased the outstanding skill and artistry of our community.
