Highlands College #DEC and BTEC Construction students are looking for valuable work placement opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the Architecture, Engineering or Construction industries.
Students are looking to shadow professionals in various roles; including architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and project managers, gaining insights that shape their career paths. Employers can host students for 1-2 days per week, starting in the new year.
The opportunity will help our island’s future professionals build skills, confidence and industry contacts, giving them aspiration and shaping their career paths.
By offering placements, employers support the next generation of Jersey’s Architecture, Engineering and Construction workforce on island and will help address the skills gap in the construction industry.
Many of our students are still formulating ideas of where within the built environment sector they wish to pursue and therefore models of experience that have, in the past had the most
positive impact are ones whereby students can ‘dip their toe’ and shadow a range of professions, gaining meaningful experiences and outcomes across some of the wide range of careers that the industry offers.
