Who is this course for?
This course is designed for apprentices working in the Welding, Sheet Metal, Fabrication or Mechanical Engineering Industry. The course will give an apprentice a formal Welding and Fabrication qualification.
What are the entry requirements for the course?
There are no formal requirements for the course, but if you wish to enrol on the apprenticeship you will need three GCSEs at grade D including Maths and Communication (e.g. English).
How long is this course?
A two-year part-time course, commencing September 2024
One day per week: 8.30am to 4.30pm.

What will I study on this course?
The course will involve four units: two Welding units, one Fabrication unit and a related studies unit.
Each unit will have a written and practical exam.
What Qualification will I gain?
ABC Welding and Fabrication Practice Level 2 Certificate.
How is the course assessed?
By successful completion of externally set examinations and assessed practical tasks.
What does this course lead on to?
ABC Welding and Fabrication Practice Level 3 Certificate.
