Embrace your passion for food and develop your techniques to create the perfect fine dining experiences.
This course is intended for anyone who would like to acquire a high standard of principal cookery skills. You will gain the confidence and a discerning attitude toward choice of ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation of food. Although this course can stimulate interest for employment opportunities in the Hotel and Catering industry, it is primarily intended for those who wish to gain a professional qualification in an enjoyable environment.
What are the entry requirements for the course?
Candidates should be over 18 years of age.
You will also be required to attend our open evening for a quick interview on 4th September 2024.
How long is this course?
A part-time course delivered in one year.
Day and Time: Tuesday Evenings from 6.00.pm to 9.00.pm

What will I study on this course?
The course comprises of classical and modern cookery techniques. You will learn food preparation and cooking of a wide range of commodities including poultry, meat, vegetables, and desserts.
What Qualification will I gain?
City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Culinary Skills (7138-21).
How is the course assessed?
Practical skills will be assessed on a weekly basis which will include a range of skills tests and short answer papers on all units.
Successful completion of this course requires a minimum of 95% attendance due to continuous assessment.
What does this course lead on to?
City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Culinary Skills (Part-Time).
City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in General Patisserie and Confectionery (Part-Time).
How much will it cost?
Fees are £633 per year and includes registration, exams and all food costs.
Fees are non-refundable.
Resits of exams: £30.
Uniform/books and knives to be purchased @ approx cost of £160 (details will be given at enrolment evening).
Please note if you don’t wish to buy knives then they can be provided in class.
