Who is this course for?
This course aims to help Plumbers and Heating Engineers who want to install Unvented Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems to comply with the appropriate Building Regulations and Standards.
What are the entry requirements for the course?
Candidates should be competent Plumbing/Heating Engineers, with knowledge and experience of domestic hot water systems.
How long is this course?
The course lasts for one day, and is run on demand.
What will I study on this course?
The course consists of four modules:
- Vented and Unvented systems and their operating principles
- Design and installation
- Maintenance
- Compliance with other Building Regulations
What Qualification will I gain?
A BPEC Unvented Hot Water certificate and competency card.
Will I go out on work experience?
Applicants will already be competent Plumbing/Heating Engineers.
How is the course assessed?
The sucessful completion of three assessments, including one practical.
Candidates must successfully pass all three assessments to gain the BPEC Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems certificate and competency card.
What does this course lead on to?
Successful candidates can either join a Competent Persons’ Scheme, allowing the self-certification of installations, or notify the local Building Control department prior to commencing work.
