Who is this course for?
This course is designed to build on the knowledge that you have gained from the IMIAL Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles, looks at diagnostic techniques and introduces you to more vehicle systems.
These include Multiplex Communications, Stability Control and other electronic systems.
What are the entry requirements for the course?
- 4 GCSEs at Grade D including English, Maths and Science
- Employed within the Motor Industry and successful completion of the IMIAL Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles
How long is this course?
1 year part-time beginning September 2024.
One day per week: – 8.30am to 6.30pm.
What will I study on this course?
The course comprises of units covering Engine Technology, Electrical and Electronic Fault Finding, Transmission, Steering and Suspension Systems. The course includes both theoretical and practical input and assessment is carried out in a variety of ways.
What Qualification will I gain?
IMIAL Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles.
Will I go out on work experience?
Not applicable.
How is the course assessed?
By successful completion of continuous practical assessment, written test and on-line tests.
What does this course lead on to?
Higher level Engineering courses.
