Who is this course for?
This course allows the apprentices to develop the knowledge, skills and competency required for Installation Electrician in the Electrotechnical sector.
What are the entry requirements for the course?
Applicants should be employed or must be due to start in the Electrical Industry, and preferably have GCSE grades ‘C-D’ (or equivalent) including Maths, English and Science.
How long is this course?
This apprenticeship runs for 4-years and starts in September.
What will I study on this course?
This is an NVQ qualification and will be a mix of:
- Level 3 Electrotechnical theory
- Onsite assessment and development of a logbook to complete the NVQ
- Competent Persons Final Assessment (AM2)
What Qualification will I gain?
5357-23 City and Guilds Electrotechnical Qualification (Installation)
Will I go out on work experience?
Candidates must be working in the Electrical Industry
How is the course assessed?
The assessment will be a mixture of online multiple choice exams, written assignments and practical assessments in the College and Onsite.
What does this course lead on to?
There are numerous progression options, depending on the Electrician’s chosen route.
- 2391-52 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing
- 2377-77 Portable Appliance Testing
- 2396 Design, Erection and Verification
