In May 2025, Jersey will celebrate the 80th anniversary of its liberation from enemy control during the Second World War. Most Islanders will be generally aware of the importance associated with Liberation Day and events shaping the preceding Occupation. This short local course presents the opportunity to gain a fuller understanding of both the major events of this period along with an exploration of some of its less well-known elements. Delivered by historian, tutor and tour guide Ian Ronayne, it will explore the Island’s Second World War period through entertaining and interactive learning in the classroom and where the history happened.
