Who is this course for?
Beauty therapists, complementary therapists, nail technicians, sports massage therapists, fitness instructors, hairdressers and barbers are exposed to ‘wet working’ due to the nature of their profession with a high likelihood of developing contact dermatitis.

What will I study on this course?
This course will enable anyone with wet work and frequent hand washing requirements, such as beauty therapists, complementary therapists, nail technicians, sports massage therapists, fitness instructors, hospitality workers, automotive, hairdressers and barbers to develop their knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and causes of the ever-increasing skin condition of contact dermatitis, and how it can be prevented.
This course will allow them to recognise the causes, signs and symptoms of contact dermatitis.
The knowledge that you will gain through completing this unit will help you to understand and explain the causes, signs and symptoms of contact dermatitis, and the methods of prevention.
You will be able to define what wet working is and explain the difference between employee and employer health and safety responsibilities.
